The   Action Sports Games Mandurah was opened today with an official press conference with some of the world’s best athletes ahead of the International Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup this weekend.

World Champion trick skier Clemetine Lucine has returned again after a successful run at last year’s World Cup.

“The   Action Sports Games is one of the only events in the world that brings together every type of water sport,” said Lucine.

Since last year’s event Clementine has been busy perfecting her craft and hopes to show off a double back-to-back flip, which involves a full 360 rotation.

Women’s jumping and shortboard kicks off the event tomorrow, with the wakeboarding semi-finals and finals action happening over the weekend.

There are high expectations for World Number One Wakeboarder Harley Clifford to perform again; the young gun experienced his best season yet in 2012 and is confident he can keep his reign as World Champion.

“I’ve been working hard to invent some new tricks so I can be competitive in this prominent Australian event,” said Clifford.

World Number One Jumper Freddy Krueger is back in Mandurah again, seeking the challenging conditions and mental strategy that is required of himself to win a pro event.

All the action begins tomorrow at 7:30am on the Western Foreshore in Mandurah.

The   Action Sports Games also coincides with the annual Channel Seven Crab Fest, adding more vibrancy and excitement to the City of Mandurah.

Tourism Western Australia and the Department of Regional Development and Lands are proud to support the   Action Sports Games Mandurah through the Royalties for Regions – Regional Events Program, which is administrated by Eventscorp.
